On Monday, February 27th, 2012 twenty-three members of the Fox Valley Young Professionals Network (FVYP) gathered together at Interior?s for Business in Batavia and were joined by guest speaker Dr. Robert M. Peterson, Sales Foundation Professor at Northern Illinois University. Through Dr. Peterson?s presentation, attendees learned successful sales and negotiation tactics and the value of asking questions to create the most beneficial solutions.
Peter Witt of Lighthouse Marketing Services, Inc. stated, ?Fantastic event. Dr. Peterson was very engaging, and his exercise really forced us to think and ask questions. Negotiations are something that everyone in business constantly has to go through ? often at times without realizing it. Planning and training for negotiations tends to be an afterthought. This is why the topic and exercise were so useful.?
Dr. Peterson holds degrees from Indiana University, George Washington University and the University of Memphis. Dr. Peterson earned the American Marketing Association 2002 Innovative Teacher Award, Innovative Sales Educator Award from the University Sales Center Alliance 2006, 2010 Hormel Meritorious Teaching Award from the Marketing Management Association, and the 2011 Excellence in Teaching Award by the Sales Special Interest Group of the American Marketing Association.
Save the Date! April 16, 2012 at 6:00 pm. Tom Walter, CEO of Tasty Catering, will be speaking to FVYP at Interiors for Business in Batavia. For more information, email: info@foxvalleyypn.org
