Columbine survivors offer their support after Newtown tragedy ...

LITTLETON, Colo. ? Thirteen years after a shooting at Columbine High School, survivors of the 1999 attack are offering words of support to the families and survivors of Friday?s shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.

?I really hope the good stories will come out and show a community can come together just like Littleton did after Columbine,? said Anne Marie Hochhalter, a survivor of the 1999 shooting in Jefferson County.

Even after a decade since the 1999 attack, survivors are hoping through their experience they?ll be able to reach out to the families of the Connecticut attack and offer words of comfort.

?I feel kind of helpless when I hear about these things and I want to help, I just don?t really know how.? Hochhalter said.

On Friday, just hours after the attack in Newtown, the principal of Columbine High School held a press conference offering his thoughts on a tragedy.

?We have to stand up as a nation and say enough is enough, what is wrong with our society?again there?s not one right answer,? said Columbine?s Frank DeAngelis.
