Choosing the Tones
Color schemes are foundation to any theme. Walls with cool hues such as blues and greens along with whites and neutrals work perfectly for the nautical home background. Pale tones create a more airy feel to the interiors, whereas vivid shades are ideal for creating a warmer setting. Reds and oranges are best reserved for small-sized adornments. Yellow is preferable for large accessories.
Make it More Realistic
For the seafaring backdrop, wood is preferred for cabinets, desks, bed frames, and tables. Furniture displaying the original wooden surface gives a rustic appearance. You can also paint furniture blue, green, or white if you prefer. Opt for the traditional white and blue-striped upholstery on sofas and beach chairs to instantly amplify the nautical ambiance. Throw in yellow cushions and rugs to balance the color scheme.
Give the Final Touches
Adorn the space with beautiful oceanic decor. Some ideas include beach pebbles in shallow bowls; an active fish tank; a few red or orange starfish on the mantelpiece; a boat anchor wall hanging; framed images of rural dockyards, seagulls, or aquatic life; and other pieces of accessories that reminds you of the sea.
Finally, step back and breathe in the freshness of the sea right inside your home. Quench your longing for the marine air by creating an inviting nautical home away from the ocean
